I walk or run. I just get out of the house regardless of the weather.

I used to be really destructive, self destructive. I'd drink, smoke, eat rubbish food and wallow. I also used to get very very angry, over small things, especially when I was a teenager. Now I run. I take out every bit of anger and frustration on the pavement, I stick my "angry" music on LOUD and I run. I sweat until I can't see and I want to throw up. MUCH better than my old coping mechanisms!

I run, I clean my house like a psycho, or I call my best friend (in my case, that's DH).

The biggest thing for me is to NOT sweep it under the rug. I try to find the root of the anger and look for the solution. Depending on what really threw me over the edge, the resolution can vary. Sometimes I need to actually resolve a conflict with a person, just get some thoughts out of my head by talking or writing, or be alone for a while until my thoughts congeal.

Definitely resolve it - don't just manage it.

Anger can be destructive, but it can also be a tool used to show us that something is wrong and we can grow from it..

I'm with the folks who mentioned martial arts. I have a close group of friends at my dojo, when I'm having a bad day I let them know, and the ones who can make it to class show up and beat the ever lovin' crap out of me. Punching blockers until you can't lift your arms and getting choked out multiple times in rapid succession might not be the healthiest ways of handling emotion, but I enjoy it and boy is it a good workout.
