I move away to college less than a week and haven't lost a single pound. (i've probably gained a million) Way to try and make a good impression. I'm just going to be the fat annoying freshman. This is going to suck. I don't think I'll ever lose anything. I always start out really well and then after like two weeks I'm just not motivated anymore or something gets in the way. As soon as I started working out this time I got sick and then when I got better it was time to study for exams. Then it was christmas time. It seems that every time I try the universe gets in the way. I like food way too much to give it up. When I want to exercise I'm too busy to do it or it's the middle of the night (like it is now) I just don't know if I'll ever find the motivation to be thin. I want it so badly but obviously not enough to actually get it.

I'm the same way with everything though. I never apply myself the way I should. I always start a semester off really great and then the motivation is just gone so of course my grades suffer. I don't know why I'm like this. I don't want to be like this but I don't think I'm going to change. And if I try and fail, what was the point of all the effort I put in anyways?

  • Hey let me start out by telling you Im around your age so I under stand! I just turned 20 in june and I was in the same boat you are in now! I was so bad that I was smart enough to get into nursing school at the youngest age in our county ever yet to "lazy" to actually try to pass so I ended up failing out! You may not think in now but one day your "will power" will come. Mine just came 2 weeks ago when I walked into A&F to get clothes from someone for Christmas and realized its been since 9th grade since I fit into their clothes and they go to a size 12!
But before I realized that I did exactly what you are doing every diet & diet pill in the work and having school and pro a job to go along with it all! This is a great website so just come and visit and get inspired! **TIP** something else that helped me is I pulled an old and sister I mea OLD pic out of my self and saw how much better I looked then, not really that I was skinny because I wasnt I was just healthier! Give it a try you never know!Hope it helped

Hi sweetie, I am 47 years old and let me tell you that you HAVE the power to change. Yes you do!

How about you be the girl who chooses good foods and then walks around campus each nite. When I study (yes, still studying at 47!) I am always clearer after I get some cardio.

You can make whatever impression you want on the new ppl you are meeting. We used to say " Fake it till you make it" Sounds silly, but each day, each moment you can choose how your attitude will enter into play.

Do NOT call yourself fat , ugly, stupid, lazy...DO NOT! Others WILL see you as you see yourself. Think of what you would say to a good friend.

    Your hair looks great today!
    Your makeup is perfect!
    Love those jeans!
    I am proud of you!!

You can do this. Life is just beginning for you, honey. I swear you have the power to make it a good life full of healthy foods and exercise!

She is so right! Especially the "fake it till you make it." That goes for so many things in life. If you're not feeling happy, smile until you start to feel okay. If you're not feeling self-confident, pull your shoulders back, toss your hair back and put your chin up until you start to feel it! It really does work!
