I've always liked the taste of it but haven't used it in years due to the calorie content.

I'm wondering if its got the right kind of fat.

Sesame and peanut oil are good fats, just like olive oil. I use all three when I cook...just measure!

Definitely a good fat! And a good source of phytosterols which help to lower cholesterol.

Since it's a nut/seed oil it should be fine. Not sure why you heard it was bad...maybe due to the amounts of polyunsaturated fat? It's natually occurring, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Almost all oils come in between 120-140 cals and about 14-16g of fat per tbsp, so it's not like it is particularly high fat or high calorie. It's right in line with the rest.

It's high calorie, but the flavour is so strong (and delicious) that you only need a little bit - it's worth the calories in my opinion.

PUSFA are not necessarily good. People get too much omega 6 as it is and not enough omega 3. Granted it is much better than canola, sunflower and anything hydrogenated.

Hadn't heard one way or the other. Just wanted to know.

Glad to see these responses... I can smell the sesame steak now.

I'm thinking a 1/2 Tbsp is plenty to really boost the flavor of pretty much any good sized cut of meat
