Hi everyone. What 100% whole wheat / grains do you eat as far as bread.. rice.. etc. (that are good for you. none of the processed stuff lol)

I know that some of the bread we find in grocery stores aren't actually that good for you as it may seem.. I'd love to hear any feedback. I notice that I eat alot of Sara Lee 45 cals per slice multi-grain bread and recently have switched to Ezekiel Whole Sprouted Grain Bread.. but i'd love other recommendations as well.

When you look for bread, look for "whole grains" not "whole wheat." I eat P28 bread which has 28 grams of protein in 2 slices. :)

But P28 is whole wheat..... As I understand it, whole wheat and whole grain are the same thing. It's multi-grain labeled bread that is the pretender...

I assume you're looking for healthy carbs? Ezekiel is a good start. I have their tortilla things for my wraps at lunch. brown rice obviously. Plain ol' rolled oats are an excellent carb. Those are my 3 staple carbs outside of the occasional Trader Joes Whole Grain Fiber bread or Whole Wheat Pasta or Rice Pasta.

whole wheat is whole grain, but not all whole grain is whole wheat. Pop corn is "100% whole grain" because it is made of the entire grain.

As far as bread I buy anything labeled 100% whole wheat. Anything that just says "whole wheat" or "whole grain" could be 15% (I think).

Rudi's Organic bakery bread is a great bread that tastes AMAZING. I haven't tried a bread of theirs I didn't like. I also love how they stay away from unnecessary fillers (including soy) I'd definitely check them out. For a treat, their cinnamon raisin bread is TO DIE FOR. YUMMY!
