No appetite

Hi everyone,

So far I've lost 6 pounds since my last weigh in a couple weeks ago. I'm happy about my weight loss and I'm seeing a difference.

However, recently, I've noticed that I have hardly any appetite. I could hardly finish half a pop tart this morning and I've been struggling to meet at least 1200 food calories per day.

I think I'm still healthy. I'm taking vitamins daily, as well, to prevent malnutrition. I'm not sure what the issue is, though.

Maybe I'm depressed. I've been feeling down lately. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

Anyone else experience something like this?

    Well, you need to eat...
Not being hungry could be a sign that your metabolism is slowing down, but with your weight loss, it seems unlikely.

When I had no appetite (from taking medication), I drank a lot of smoothies, so I could get all the calories I needed and do so in a healthy way. Liquids help, because they don't feel like you're eating that much.

Maybe your body is just getting used to not eating that much, and you should listen, but you should be able to finish a pop-tart, so that seems strange.

I might start eating some avocados with every meal. They go down easy, have the calories I need, and aren't too bad for me.
