Saw a thread about food poetry and I wondered about writing a Food Haiku. Then I thought FOOKU which is brilliant (even if I say so myself).

I thought it would be fun to have a Fooku competition. The rules are pretty simple. It must be in haiku format and it must be about food (or drink).

"The ancient art of haiku requires precision: a five syllable first line; seven syllable second line; and five syllable third line. The best haiku features a final line that works like a friendly elbow in the ribs."

Here's my go:

Chocolate and wine
With you here warm by the fire
Who cares if it rains

Taking the structure more loosely, these from Tom Wilson:

Life rushes on, faster and faster
But the fact is you can't rush toast.

It's strange that a dog will eat a dead bird
but will never eat a grape
