I am thinking about making a challenge. Not sure what to create. but I have been in a funk lately. I need something to kick me in the *kitten*. Anyone feeling like this? I lost by best friend last week, she moved to Florida, and I live in Indiana, and I have been eating everything in sight. I know excuses, excuses. So, if anyone out there is interested in a getting out of the funk challenge, lets brain storm on what we want to do, how we want things to run. I am no expert on anything. I am now up 4 pounds, and I can not start back on my bad path I have been on.

Hi Jenn! It's great you want to set a goal and get support on MFP! The best challenges I think are those that come from within from your passion for what you want to do with your time and life to be more fit and healthy. I'm starting P90X on Sept 6 (or maybe before!) with a group on here and you would be welcome to join. There are lots of new runners always starting Couch to 5 K, and I know I got started on this fitness journey with a group that was doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred DVD. Good luck finding something that you love and that inspires you to be active and eat clean--and feel great every day!! I look forward to hearing about it too :)

Thanks so much for the kind words! I am so scared of buying those DVDs because ther are so expensive and I would hate to buy them and totally hate them. Right now I do Leslie sansone and walk around my neighborhood. We have some decent hills so it is hard. I also have started the C25K but quit because I couldn't get past week 1 without feeling like I was going to have a stroke during the jogs. My HR gets up to the 180 range when I jog and I want to die

Getting your heart rate up is the point - but yes, don't die!

It's very possible that you are just jogging way too fast to start out. In the first week, if you have never jogged before, you should be jogging around a 4 or 4.5mph. Even if you are just jogging at a fast walking pace, you are still jogging and getting your heart pumping. It's totally possible that you would have way more success with C25K if you had a buddy to jog with and that would keep pace with you. Having the extra support would help a ton. These threads and forums are also a great source of support.

It definitely takes a lot of commitment to start and finish though, so if you aren't feeling it I understand!
