Hey everybody,

I just realized that I only eat between 8 - 15 grams of calcium a day (recommended amount is 100 grams a day).
Can this have long term effects on my bones?
Should I take calcium capsules?
I don't eat a lot of dairy anymore, because I had stomach problems. I don't like dairy anyway ...

I exercise about an hour and a half a day.

Thank you!

I just started tracking my food a few days ago and I noticed the same thing. Even with my multi-vitamin that I take each day, I am still coming up short by 25-50% each day. This is really worrying me, because I just had son#2 and am breastfeeding. Does anyone know how to easily (without lots of calories) add more calcium into your day? Are there harmful effects of not getting enough?

I also want to know which calcium capsules do you recommend?
They have to be available in Europe.

Some foods with calcium are spinach, kale, brocoli, almonds, chick peas, kidney beans, tahini, tofu, appricots, figs, walnuts, okra, green beans, baked beans. There are many choices beside dairy if you want to increase your calcium.
