If you blend "lite/healthy" smoothies in the morning:drinker: , can you recommend a good 'ol Walmart Blender that you have purchased (one that chops the ice or frozen fruit very good without breaking in 2wks and also, how do you make your smoothie?
I am looking at the following, based on a few of my friends food diaries:
Fruit
Yogurt
Jillian Michaels protein powder

Girl I haven't found a "new" blender in years that's worth two cents. I got me an old school one from the thrift store years ago and its still running strong!!!! They just don't make things like they use to.
I think I paid $5 for it. LOL
Good luck cuz!0 -
The Bullett!
Greek yogurt, pure protien powder vanilla 1 scoop, blue berries frozen, strawberries frozen and 6 cubes of ice....YUMMMMM0 -
With my smoothies I just add fruit, sometimes a little bit of water if I need to. My favorite so far is a 3 banana smoothie. I haven't bought a new blender in years but I really need to. :frown:0

I use frozen bananas in my smoothies. It makes them thick and creamy, and you don't have to use ice. (i'm all about 5 ingredients or less.) Anyways, I like to use 1 frozen banana, plain non-fat yogurt, and another add-in such as oatmeal, peanut butter, strawberries, flax seed, wheat germ, protein powder, chocolate powder, etc. It's very versatile!
Note, when freezing bananas, peel, slice, and then place the slices in a container. This will make it easier to throw in a blender quickly.0 -
Any blender with metal blades and metal bit (the part that drives the blade) is likely going to work, short of terrible luck, for years.
If it has an ice grind setting, you are golden.
I bought mine for a buck at a yard sale LOL, but it has those features and I use it for everything, even home made cream of vegetable soups. (No cream needed, the blender whips up the natural vegetable starch nicely)0
