How long before you started seeing results???

Okay, so I started excercising/watching my calories this past Saturday. 4 days into it and I haven't really lost anything... how long did it take before weight loss results started happening? I'm not discouraged--because I feel so great from working out! _Just wondering

My body is really malleable. I started exercising after a month of bedrest, and after a week I started to see great improvement in my legs. Two weeks later I even started to like the way I looked.
Then TOM, personal issues, and sleep deprivation came all at once and I ate every carb in sight, and I ballooned out (still have muscle tone, though). Set me back a couple weeks, though.0 -
Get on a solid program for 4 weeks. What you can do now if you haven't yet is take body pictures and measurements. It will be easier to track and compare after 4 weeks. If you stick with healthy eating habits and regular exercise you should see results.0

im going on a month soon and havent seen too much of a difference, but i havent weighed myself either and i have a lot to lose0

5 weeks in, and I'm not seeing much yet. A few pounds lost, but my clothes all still fit the same. My husband says my legs are getting more defined, so that's a plus.
4 days in is very early. Don't expect to see much for a good month.0 -
for drastic changes, I saw it in 4 weeks.0

I didn't weigh myself again until I was a week in and saw a loss. I really try not to weigh myself more than once a week because daily weight fluctuation is not helpful! After I lose my first 20 lbs I'm gonna start only weighing every 2 weeks or more if I can help it.0

I lost two pounds after one week (didn't weigh myself daily that week). I didn't personally notice anything until I lost more like 5 lbs... but more than the weightloss, I was toned from my increased activity level.
Definitely take before pictures. That's one of my biggest regrets.0 -
I used to be very active with running and other sports... and then I stopped exercising regularly for quite a few years. In July, I started exercising regularly again, drinking more water, eating more healthily... but did not see any results for about a month! It was extremely frustrating because I was going to the gym about four times a week and burning 400-500 calories with just the cardio portion of my exercise. I started to get depressed because I was working so hard but not losing anything.
Then FINALLY about two weeks ago, I noticed that I had dropped five pounds.
And then this last week, I saw that I had dropped about three pounds.
It seems that my body is finally getting used to exercising regularly and eating right. You're not going to see results right away even with watching what you eat and making sure the exercise regularly. If you haven't been exercising, it can take some time for your body to get used to it. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! It doesn't mean you're not working hard enough or that you're failing... it just means your body needs a little time to get with the program. ;-)
Don't base everything on the number on the scale. Even before I started losing pounds, I did notice that my body seemed a tiny bit more toned than before. And even though I was frustrated with the slow weight loss, I felt a lot better for having exercised. My mood was better, I slept more soundly, and just had more energy.
Good luck!0 -
I noticed that I started losing weight at week one...3 lbs. I'm 1/2 into week two and I've lost another .6. I noticed the weight coming off right away, but everyone is different! be patient! If you don't see it after about 3 wks, might have a blood test to make sure thyroid is not an issue...not to make you scared, just for awareness purposes. Good luck!0

Definately measure as well as weigh in- the inches make a BIG difference0

It took 2-3 weeks. It was new to my body so it took time to adjust and when you start a new workout, it can cause the scale to go up (not gain weight) until your body adjusts. I was losing inches after 2 weeks though. It can be very discouraging in the beginning, but keep at it and it will happen.0

I lost about 8 lbs and couldnt see a difference. then i did the 30 day shred and only lost 3.5lbs from that and it was a big difference. so it took about 2 months. but usually depending on your weight you will notice after 3 weeks. my clothes were getting smaller but i looked the same in the mirror.0

I started Memorial Day at 230, lost 21 pounds, as of Sunday, and no visible change yet. My husband started last year at a similar weight and says people started noticing at around 30 pounds lost. I'm sure it varies with weight and exercise and genetics, etc.0

I started MFP 60 odd days ago, this week people are noticing my weight loss when they see me. I started seeing the weight on the scales and it took about a month for me to notice a change in my clothes. MFP has been fabulous for me cos I normally give up quite quick if I have a day when i'm not being healthy its easy for it to go to 2 then 3 then 4!!!!! On here everyone helps each other and that helps to stay on the plan.0

When I first started losing the weight, to see "actual" results took a few weeks to a month. Trust when I say, take before and after pictures!!!! I did it through my entire weight loss and it's amazing to see how the body changes.0

By my 3rd week of being consistent with logging and exercising I definitely felt and looked less bloated in the middle (my trouble spot:((). By weeks 4 & 5 I definitely saw some improvement in tone and I had lost 3 lbs. I'm on here mainly for maintenance (although I wouldn't mind loosing a few more pounds). One thing I do know is that staying consistent and with in your allotted calories, being true to yourself, logging everything and keeping up with your work out will get you there! Best of luck to you!!!0

I started out one year ago weighing 315.5 pounds. My first week I lost 9 pounds... Since then I have not seen numbers that large. It was a few months before anyone really noticed and my clothes felt loose. Depending on how tight ur clothes were when u started it may take a while before u have to go down a size. Never weigh more than once a week. Do it the same day and time every week. Your body can have up to three pounds of fluctuating weight due to water gain and stress level. Give yourself some time! Rome wasn't built in a day!0
