Decaffeinated tea such as green or red tea, as long as it is below 15 calories can be counted as water.

    Also, read this somewhere:-
Herbal decaffeinated teas and coffee made with pure water count towards your daily pure water intake. Green tea is a great alternative to coffee. It is rich in cancer-fighting antioxidants and is a natural energizer. Any decaffeinated tea is acceptable. Decaffeinated coffee made with pure water is acceptable in small amounts. It contains tannic acid which increases the overall acidity of your body, so is best limited to 2-3 cups per day.

Tea is considered a diuretic which means its going to be absorbed by your body and then will eventually be let out faster then water.

Water contains minerals that keep going through your body. So in other words water is water.

My doctor said. Fluids push fluids. Certain fluids work against your body. When you drink sugar fluids it turns into sugar in your body. When you drink teas and coffee its absorbed and pushed out. Water itself its absorbed and then circulated in the body.
