Good morning, group!
Today is a new day and a fresh start for me. I am not going to be hitting it full force today but I am making some changes. As much as I don't logging food I am going to start that again today. I gained 8 pounds since Thanksgiving. I am hoping some of that is bloating and stuff which will come off in the next week or so. I hope to drop a couple of those pounds quickly so my jeans will be comfortable again.
Today my goals are:
to stay focused and busy
heavy cleaning for at least an hour (though there's enough for the full day!)
paint on Alex's bed
drink my water (which was going great on bedrest)
and then have some selfish time to watch a movie and work on my cross stitch.
Alex is going to a friend's house this morning, which will be hard for me. That's why I need to stay focused and busy. He will be back in time for his nap which is when I will probably have my selfish time.
That's it for today. Thanks you all for your prayers and sweet words. God is my Rock. And I kind of look at my friends on MFP as my...well, smaller rock. You all have been so supportive and encouraging. Thanks.

Glad to see you're up and about, MM. :flowerforyou:
Today will be Day 3 of my P90x which means I'll be doing Shoulders & Arms, and Ab Ripper. Drinking my water and eating clean today as well. I've got lots of school to work on too, so after my workout I'll be plopping myself in front of my books.
Be strong today! :drinker:0 -
Today I'm going to the running store to buy (gulp) running shoes. I have to admit that I'm intimidated, as running seems to be my "final frontier" of what only fit people do. But, my legs can't take running in my cross trainers anymore, and my brother got my competitive back up by training for a 5K, so I'm in. . .I'm also looking at it as something new and inspiring to get me motivated for the new year!
Then, I'll do my podrunner on the treadmill and some upper body weights. Depending on my energy level after that, I may jump on the elliptical as I skipped the gym yesterday (I did have a 40 minute walk with my backpack, which I'm feeling this a.m. a bit in my back and butt)
Other than that, it's trying to stay away from the food that doesn't like me (sweets/flour/refined gunk) staying close to water and taking my vits.
Oh, and I made a new year's resolution of sorts. . .I've decided that I can't go cold turkey on the whole eating while watching TV thing. . .so I'm limiting it to snacks of either fruit or veg. No more meals there. So, I also have to go stock up on grapes, tangerines and carrots.
Take care, ladies!:flowerforyou:
Oh, and MM. . .I'm honored to be your pebble.0 -

Sounds like the New Year's Resolutions are coming in.
I just got the ok from husband to do another ride - this one is 50 miles in a place called "Lost Pines". For those not in the know, there aren't any pine trees in Texas except in East Texas and this little spot. It's one of my favorite spots around here - so it should be fun. Will not ride if it rains or is under 50 degrees (hey, I'm a Texan). I also have resolution not to be so uptight about stuff.
With all that in mind, hopefully we have a grueling exercise day ahead - ride to campus (about 35 minutes), workout, ride back. Husband didn't sleep well last night, so I hope he's still up for it. I need to get lots done around the house today as well. It's not going to feel like a vacation with all these chores hanging over my head.
Got a walk in yesterday along with the yoga. We walked on the greenbelt. I forget how much I enjoy walking through the woods. I really need to do that more. I could have gone for hours.0 -
I was going to say you are all my pebbles, but I didn't want it to come across as pebbles in my shoes. :laugh:0

Okay. I'm done. I cleaned for an hour or so and that was enough. Whew!
Now I need to figure out what to do for lunch. I'm more in a snacky mood and wanting salt. I'll see what I can find that doesn't require a lot of prep.
I hope you all are having a good day! It's gorgeous today. I'm about to open the windows.

Hi ladies. I had to go back to work today - boo! I still found myself eating for reasons other than hunger. I'm embarrassed to say that I just polished off a box of wheat thins! Now, it was mostly empty already... but I wasn't really eating out of hunger. Those things are just addictive! Gotta work on that tomorrow. I did go on a walk with my co-worker after lunch.
I don't have any resolutions as of yet. And honestly, I probably won't make any until I finish my degree. I am planning on running a 5K myself, Vivia, in late May I think. I have managed it once on the treadmill (with no incline), so it should be doable if I do some more training. I've never been to a running store, though - considering that I hate running! But I figure I should be able to do a 5K every now and then.
I'm glad to be a pebble, too!0
