The title sums it up... During the sweat sessions of Power 90, when they do jumping jacks, hops, etc... The bottom part of my foot (mostly the arches) hurt, cramp and just cause general pain. I am not exhausted and know I could push myself farther but it just starts hurting so bad. I don't think it's plantar fasciitis because it only hurts during these Power 90 sessions. I have changed shoes a million times and that has not made a difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas or can tell me why this is happening?

I use to get pain in my feet when working out so I started working out bare foot.. more comfortable for me. Then again I have carpet.. not sure if you do?
  • You need to stretch the bottom of your foot by sitting down, straightening your legs and pulling your toes towards you, each foot individually 15 seconds x 3. Also, standing on a tennis ball under your arch really helps me - i just stand on it for about 5-10 seconds on each foot x 3.

Do these exersizes every day and your foot pain should go away, make sure you do them at the end of every workout as part of your stretching routine. Initially, you may have to stop during your workout and stretch them out so you can get through the workout without pain.

    good luck!

I agree that stretching is the way to deal with it. I can suffer from terrible foot calf and all-up-my-leg cramps but it's not so bad when I stretch.

cramps can be due to lack of potassium -- (eat a PRE-WORKOUT banana), and, believe it or not, lack of oxygen! some people concentrate so hard on what they're doing during exercise that they forget to breathe regularly -- they sort of hold their breath until they can't any more and then make little gasps--this is very common--I've seen it in a lot of dancers concentrating hard for difficult choreographies.

    so BREATHE!
