mfp is wonderful when you can meet people who are trying to lose weight, some want to gain weight, build muscle, get into excellent shape etc. mfp can be bad when you see people that eat crappy food and still lose weight, guzzle beer and other beverages and still lose weight, maybe some eat a lot and still dont gain any weight. if you have tempertantrums like me it can all seem bad. i lost 6 pounds my first week and started hanging with bf and his friends who drink beer daily, and the first week i didnt drink thats when the weight fell off.... and have yet to lose another pound. matter of fact i gained some back and lost it again. people heavy as me and heavier are eating crap and still losing... lol im jealous. i blame it on alcohol. or maybe its just my body wanting to tick me off. my weight loss goals are not unrealistic as some might say. i should not be at a darn pleteau. i thought about not logging in for awhile because this and other stressors of life are really getting to me... oh and i complain a lot as many of you may have noticed over the past week.. yes this is pity party for party of 1.

just think, the people who are eating crap and still losing weight, theyre most definetly going to gain it back when they start binging the bad foods again, the only way to lose and maintain weight is by changing your lifestyle.
so dont be discouraged, and why not avoid other peoples diarys?

but i think you should stay, or you may just give up!

I <3 wine. I've even heard it can be healthy to drink moderate amounts of wine on a regular basis. I don't know if that's true... but I'm going to tell myself it is so I can keep drinking my one glass of wine several nights per week. I just make sure to fit it into my calorie goals.

I know a ton of people that eat 'crap' and still lose weight, myself included. But when I'm losing weight I dont go over my calorie allowance. It's calories in v calories out. Eat what you want, just dont eat too much of it. That goes for beer too!

You dont have to be an angel, you just need to know how to do the maths!

    good luck

What people need to realize not only when dieting but for life. Is the calories in and out doesn't matter. Yes you can lose weight eating crappy food. And yes you will lose weight. But one you won't be healthy and two you'll just be a skinny fat person.

I think you should stay as well.. Have you measured yet? I got really discouraged after no movement on the scale and finally decided to measure and learned I had lost inches.. That was enough for me to keep at it.

I also wasn't/havent made the best food choices lately, however I am learning it is taking baby steps as when I go full force I get discouraged and sabotage. So little changes each day/ week, creating new habits, and LOGGING the good the bad and the fatty/sugary :)

edited to add: Its fascinating for me to see just how awful those bad foods make me feel and how they affect my day... which is definitely steering me in the right direction.

Good luck and add me if you'd like :)

You should avoid beer if you want to lose weight. If you drink every now and then, make sure you log it.
How many calories are you consuming on average per day?

You should get plenty of sleep every night and try not to get stressed out :)

moderation? whats that? problem with it all is that alcohol and food are my battles so when the beer gets to flowing i can not do the moderation. my bf drinks one of the worst beers on earth, Milwaukee Best Ice....

honestly when i was drinking beer the past few weeks i never went over my calorie goals set my mfp. thats why im having a tempertantrum.

my goals are set to 2lbs a week. and i was burning anywhere from 300-700 depending on the day and according to mfp. the net calories were sometimes below, i noticed on days when i was doing high impact aerobics my net was supposedly 900-1100 but honestly i dont even think i was burning 700 calories... dont know why i dont have faith that i am capable of doing that... but i also give mfp some marginal error.

If you're tracking everything accurately, it just means that you're not actually burning as many calories as you think (through exercises or otherwise).
There could be other factors like sleep or stress that's getting in the way though.

Hate to say it...but maybe a change in real life friends is in order? It is very hard to change your lifestyle when hanging out with people still doing your old lifestyle. Something to think about anyway.
