I'm made a little goal for myself that when I hit a desired weight I will travel somewhere and a few days ago I decided it would be Paris. I just started taking a home study course on learning French and wanted to know if there were any MFP members here that either live in France or speak French.

I would love to add you on as a friend and maybe find out a little more about the culture.

It's been a long time for me since I learned french, but I have traveled to France and wanted to suggest if you go out there, travel to Nice. :-) BEAUTIFUL city.

I will say that even when I spoke french at the time, the locals did NOT care either way. most of them speak english. But, they would ignore you if you spoke english pretending they didn't know english. Then, if you spoke french, they still disrespected you for trying to speak their language. So, if you are wanting to travel there, make learning the language for YOUR benefit and not theirs. ;-)

No disrespect to the French out there! Just was my personal experience, unfortunately.

French is my first language. I'm very proud to speak it, my children and hubby as well:)

I've been to Paris, France and it was quite delightful!
I will agree with Skeebee that some of them can be quite rude (even though I was speaking French)...As I sometimes can be quite bold, I gave ''it'' back to them! lol
However, many were very nice and proud to share their heritage and history!
We happen to be there for the final day of Le Tour de France and that in itself was quite interesting to take in as a sporting event! It however doesn't beat the STANLEY CUP FINALS!!! lol

GREAT city...great food, great wine and the scenery and museums are fantastic!
