My "Good Food Quickly" Experience Today

OK, While I was out and about today, I met my wife for lunch at Red Robin. I knew it would kill the day in regards to staying under my caloric intake, but we needed to regroup after a stressful morning. Back in my "tubby" days, I loved Red Robin. Well, my food came, I started to eat it, and all I could taste was the grease. That never used to happen. Well suffice it to say, I've visited my lavatory multiple times since then. As I self-assess my situation, I've come to realize that this is the food that will keep me weak, keep me from having energy, and make me feel sick! As I learn more and more about nutrition, it is apparent to me that "good food served quickly" is nothing but poison to our bodies! Cleanse yourself with a good "clean eating" menu for a while and you'll see! Never again will I be a patron of such an establishment.

Couldn't agree more Bob. The choices we make at the table reflect throughout the day in the form of energy or lack thereof and many other forms. Meats take an awful lot more work and longer to digest and go through our system then vegetables and that makes our body work harder and make us feel more tired. Yes I do believe we need to have some meats in our diets but in moderation not every day that's for sure.

Gosh, I used to be able to eat 3-4 baskets of their fries (that's all I got, each with a serving of ranch of course).

Now, if I go, I can hardly eat a basket, and I get sick afterwards (I still love their fries though...).

But it is amazing how we change!

    BUMP!
  • I went to Five Guys with my family the other day and didn't even WANT to eat any of it because you could just smell the grease and I remember the tired sluggish feeling afterwards. I was happy to say that I didn't not eat a single thing, not even a fry while they all ate. I went to Subway after we got home. It is a great feeling of accomplishment when you can just KNOW what you need and don't need!

I know what you mean! Since I've been eating healthy, anything deep fat fried makes me feel ill! I feel so much better now that I eat healthy! No more constant upset digestive tract! I will eat 1 french fry every now and again but, that's my limit! I eat oatmeal, fruit and salads when I go for fast food and I feel so much better for choosing those items! Isn't it great to feel healthy?!

Yes, we can change. I have changed MANY times. But it's so easy to go back to old habits, SO EASY.

This time around I am not eliminating anything. If I want it, I'll have it, just not too often or too much.

So far so good. It might take me a little longer to get to where I want, as long as I don't return to where I was I'll be happy.

    I couldn't agree more.
