Does anyone use a Body Media Fit?

Hi, I am new here and was wondering how you record your BMF data. I am logging it under cardio using 1440 minutes (24 hrs) and my total calories burned under calories. I set my goals of working out 7 days a week for 1440 minutes/day.
I find it odd that it shows my burned calories as calories I should be eating. That makes sense if I am trying to maintain, but I am trying to lose so I have decided to just ignore it and continue to eat my 1400 cals/day. I burn between 2400-2700/day, so I consider 1000-1300 deficit that much closer to a pound lost.
Am I on track with this or does anyone use a better way?
