I know this sounds strange, but I dont know if Im breathing correctly when doing cardio exercises. When Im breathing heavy and hard e.g. in a spin class, I get a burning sensation in my throat that makes it very sore. Would this be something to do with my breathing?
Any suggestions anyone has would be great!!

Funny you should ask this question. I was thinking the same thing. I breath in from my nose and out my mouth and I have been finding it hard to breath when jogging and running. I would like to know the proper way0

Whenever possible breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Should help with the throat.0

I would like to know too. I get this when I run0

Disclaimer: I don't know anything and I can prove it.
I was always told: 'In through the nose out through the mouth'
If you are flat out pushing yourself and breathing in and out through your mouth (we all do it, I catch myself and try to stop it) then yes you will/can get that dry raspy feeling in your throat (at least I do)
Keep tabs on your breathing and try the nose/mouth thing... (but please read my disclaimer above ☺♥☺)

I'll try that then, I bet thats what Im doing wrong. I especially get it when its cold and Im running outside. My throat feels like im breathing razor blades!!0

I think you'll get and keep moisture in your throat that way too. And you won't swallow any bugs. :laugh:0

I've looked into breathing techniques, and honestly what I keep finding is that it doesn't matter that much. Breathing in through your mouth, your nose, mouth AND nose... doesn't really matter - so long as you're deep-breathing. As for your throat, try drinking some water while you're working out? I'm thinking it may have to do with dry air being a bit harsh when your breathing increases. Don't quote me on any of this though0

Maybe it's because your throat is getting dry. Do you drink enough before and after exercise? Maybe taking one of those little hand held squeezy bottles with you when you exercise, with some room temp water in.

I always have water with me and try to take little slips. Maybe I'll have to try different things,0
