    Can you not just use one from Walmart???? I had one but my kids wrecked it LOL...thinking about getting another one.
    And, are there certain workouts you do, or just plain old hula hoop?
  • I'm not sure what weight hoop to start at, or which brand is a good brand. I used them at my old gym, and it was great, but my current gym doesn't have them {Planet Fitness doesn't have much of anything besides machines and free weights }

    I make my own but have heard good things about the weighted ones. If you want to save a little bit of $, JasonUnbound is the design I use. You can weight it with water, sand, what ever. http://www.jasonunbound.com/hoops.html

    My mom got one from bodyhoops.com that's weighted. I've used it a couple times and it seems fine to me.

    I have a 5lbs weighted hula hoop and I order it online from www.sports-hoop.com. I really love it I hula hoop for 10 mins a day and I have seen a difference in my core muscles.

    I use a 3lb hula hoop and I am thinking about moving up to a 4lb. I do my own routine that I learned from a trainer, I love it. In about an hour I work off roughly 500 calories and get a fantastic muscle workout. I have lost inches, inches and more inches around my waist because of my hoop and I hardly get on the floor to do crunches. I have lost 60 lbs and I contribute a lot of it to my hoop. I eat well, run, and hoop. People think it's strange until they see the results, and then they are always curious. Go for it. Don't start with a 4lb hoop though, it's a lot more weight than you think. Start with a 2lb or 3lb. You can also make your own instead of buying one. My trainer makes all of hers.

    I have been 'shopping' around but haven't took the plunge yet. You can get them at sports-hoop.com or try etsy for some pretty ones.
  • Where are you located? I actually make extremely cute custom weighted hoops for much cheaper than almost everywhere I've found them. Message me, I can give you all the info. I haven't opened my website yet, but you can see it soon www.whenhoopsfly.com

    AND YES HOOPING IS BY FAR THE MOST FUN WORKOUT!!! :)
