but I don't. I lost about 16 pounds....and this morning I fit into a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in over a year.....so I'm supposed to feel great about my progress.....but why do I feel so crappy? Does this happen to anyone else out there??? I really don't get it...its great news......yet I feel extremely blah.

Anyway...sorry for the rant.....here goes a question.....cold water or room temperature water???? Does it make a difference?

I think we all have felt this way at different points in our journey.

Be proud of what you have accomplished - you can wear jeans that haven't fit in over a year. THAT is an awesome non-scale victory. Don't focus on how far you have to go still - focus on how far you've come.

I drink cold water because I like how it tastes better.

re: temp of water. Ice water does cause your body to burn calories to warm it back up, but it's a really small amount. I think I read once that if you drank one glass of water per day for a year you might burn enough to lose one lb.

re: feeling good about weight loss. That's a tough question because it's so personal. It could be that you expected being thinner would make something else in your life better (relationship, self image, etc.). It could be that you've worked for it for so long and built success up so much in your mind that the real thing couldn't compare. It could be that you are just in a crappy mood today and tomorrow you'll be thinking "WOW!! I fit into those jeans! Yay, me."

CONGRATS on your 16 lbs :) I don't know why you feel crappy as I am ecstatic when I can fit into a pair of smaller jeans.

As to your question.. Love love love my water ICE COLD.. when its room temperature I can't drink as much :|

I guess I am the strange one - I can drink water better at room temperature.

As for the excitement of weight loss - you have to set expectations for yourself. If you are expecting a magical moment where you become a different person - that isn't going to happen. You are still you. Your insecurities are still there, Your fears are still there. It is all just bundled in a smaller package. Celebrate every victory you can. 16 lbs is great and getting into a smaller size is incredible. Way to Go!

I'm so sorry you can't celebrate this grand victory. It's awesome that you're make such progress and have this amazing NSV. Hopefully tomorrow you will wake up and realize how great it is for you and you can enjoy your big accomplishment.

Water - really I like it at any temperature and I don't know if it makes a difference or not.

Feeling good in your mind is just a way of being. People of all weights feel good and bad. You need to look holistically at what you are doing for yourself instead of just focusing on losing weight. I believe it’s like the law of attraction, you need to get up every morning and just be a positive person. With that, good positive things will come your way and all the associated things you are doing to improve your life will feel that much better.

I am no expert but it works for me and I hope it works for you!!

Not sure about the other but I like room temperature water!
