Hello, so I love tofu and make it a lot. Usually an extra firm person, but lately I have been wanting to branch out.

I have some silken tofu and want to try it. I have had it at restaurants and it's amazing! The only things i have done with it is to make salad dressings and dips. I guess you can make pudding with it, which I will try...

However, right now, LOOKING FOR DINNER/LUNCH/MEAL options! Any ideas or directions to a website are much appreciated! I have googled it but coming up with the same things (dips, dressings, desserts).

Thanks!

  • that is a great question....honestly I have always heard that silken is best for dips etc. like you pointed out and extra firm is for "burgers", grilled options, etc.

you may have but have you tried Whole Foods website? They have recipes there....I will take a look at some of my fav vegan sites and see if I cannot find anything for you.

Sorry, I wish I could help. I am a vegan and I can barely tolerate extra firm tofu. It needs to be deep fried.

In my early years of veganism I subjected my family to silken tofu pumpkin pie and cheesecake. It all tasted ghastly.

    Sorry

Thanks ladies! Yeah, i think I'm going to save it and go ahead and use it in a chocolate raspberry cake for the weekend or something like that. We'll see! LOL

Oh and fried tofu is yummy, but lately i have been baking them and find the taste much better! Also, freezing them in marinade is a big plus! :)

I didn't even think to check out the Whole Foods sight, so thanks! :)
