Hi everyone. I am a newbie to this site. Someone just told me about it this afternoon and it sounded like something I was looking for.
I have had a weight problem for years. I have made some adjustments to my diet, 3 years ago and have lost 60 pounds. Unfortunately, I am stuck and haven't lost anything since February. It is all soooo frustrating!
Here is my story: I was always very athletic. Softball, football (yes with my brother and his friends), gymnastics, swimming, and bodybuilding, I did it all! I loved it all so much, I never had so much fun!! Over the years things have changed. I had my daughter 22 years ago, and weight slowly came on as I worked 80 hours a week. I am now a realtor and am on call pretty much 24/7 and also have a small business. Almost 6 years ago I sold a house and the home inspector took a photo of the outside of the house. I was sitting on the porch talking to my buyer and we were unaware he was taking a photo. When I got the inspection report back and I saw the photo of my backside I was horrified! When did I get fat?! How did I get fat?! That photo haunts me today. I usually avoided the camera. I have multiple health problems, and 3 years ago decided it wasn't ok. It wasn't ok to be fat and it wasn't ok to have these health problems and I was going to change it. I have made some changes that would help my health and in the process have lost 60 pounds. I also had a hysterectomy last November. I have a hard time taking it easy, in fact 3 days after my surgery I was mopping my floors and 10 days after I was working 30 hours a week. I was not supposed to work for 30 days. It was too long! I work enough I forget to eat. I don't have much of an appetite and I usually have an upset tummy, so food isn't very appealing, not to mention I have a restricted diet and am just plain bored with food. I am a diabetic and do forget to eat. I had a hard time last February and was only eating about 200-300 calories a day. After about 6 weeks of this I ended up very sick. My best friend reminds me to eat, and even then I don't want to. I am hoping this site will help to remind me to eat and help me to increase my food intake, and to eat GOOD foods. As a vegetarian, who eats gluten free, no soy, limited sugar, and am picky to boot, it has been difficult.
I want cute clothes. I don't want to be the fat one in the room. I want people to remember me for ME and not for my weight. If I hear one more time that I have a "pretty face" I think I will lose it. That only means the rest of you looks like doo doo. I have my favorite jeans from 28 years ago. I kept them, it is my goal to get back into them, and be able to breathe. I thing I would have to lose another 60 pounds or so to do it.
My goal is to get on track. Eat right and eventually get back to a good exercise routine. I really miss it! In fact, my ultimate goal is to do an triathalon. I will not let these diseases get me down, it has been a fight and I am just getting my second wind! Bring it on!! I am ready to change my life and my profile. Anyone want to join me?
