UK - Meal replacement bar ideas

Hi,
I have been 'using' slim fast bars as a convenient meal replacement / diet bar since the new year. I started out on slimfast to kick start and get my head in gear.
Well my head is in gear, so i am concious of what i'm eating etc and know they're not the best.
I wondered if anyone has info of any good meal replacement bars around in the UK.
I would still like the convenience factor as I ride and it's not really a place for a full on packed lunch so they're handy to eat on the run. Also am due back to full time education which means if I have lunch with me or a bar then I can avoid the temptation of the canteen. I'm happy to sit with a bottle of water and a bar even in company who are eating whatever.
Any ideas?

I'd love to know the answer to this too, I go back to college on Monday and I'd love to avoid going down to tesco and snacking on unhealthy food. I can't really bring a lunch either because my bag is always packed with work!0 -
i used to have slim fast bars for breakfast but now i'd rather have something with the same calorie value ie weetabix with milk and a yoghurt and feel like i've ate something.
How long do you have to stop and eat something or are you literally eating on the go?0 -
I would never advocate bars as a meal replacement, but I eat these when I go on long hikes, not as a meal replacement, but as an "extra" meal as it were - they are pretty balanced nutritionally, and taste great.

I'm starting a new course on the 19th, so hoping it won't be as 'full on' at lunch time. But as per PP starting back your bag ends up full of coursework etc and lunch ends up something small. I do plan to take packed lunches especially in winter when warm weather isn't an issue, but the car park is too far for it to stay there and until i get my timetable I won't know. Last year I actually had one day where we'd eat outside a class where the tutor was always 5 mins late! lol I stunk the coridoor out one day with an egg roll though so had to really thinka bout what was in my bag! lol
I am eating normal breakfasts etc, and food now, so definately have transistioned away from meal replacements in general. This is very much a convenience move. I'd just like to think it is convenience but healthy.0 -

I don't mind the cost too much as it's a 'meal' or as you say part of a meal. I do make sure my snacks and meals are keeping me in the right calories and healthy.0 -
My favourites are the Nakd bars, especially the non-cereal types which are just nuts and fruit. Quite high in sugar, so I wouldn't eat them every day. But they're great on the way to the gym for instance.0

Despite having bought protein powder as an extra, I'd suggest real food rather than the bars. I often eat on the run, and basically would recommend just pre-packed meat/fish. Fills you up, is pretty much natural, and is 'real'0

I'm veggie so the meat / fish is out for me, but thanks. I do plan to take meals this is really just for those days when you literally don't have time, there are bound to be days like this with 3 children, a horse, a 110 mile a day commute and Uni study also.0

I also have class all through lunch time and I have to eat bars for lunch 2-3 days per week. I usually go for Clif Mojo bars or Luna Bars. I'm pretty sure Clif bars are available in the UK, not sure about Luna though (but I think it's the same company)0
