Anyone else have to travel for work?

I am a recruiter for a University and our "travel season" starts this month. This will be my fourth year, and it is always hard to stay healthy when I am constantly driving from one place to another and staying at a different hotel every night. This year is different though. I bought 2 firness DVD's that I can do in my hotel rooms: 30 Day shred and Redner Yee Power Yoga. I am committing myself to eating healthy while traveling. No quick stops for fast food. And I am going to be using MFP to track all of my calories. It will be about 2 months of travel, but I know I can do this!
Does anyone else travel and have any tips for eating healthy on the road?

I find rooms with kitchenettes and cook for myself. Failing that, I get a pack of sandwich rounds, a pack of Tofurkey and a small head of lettuce and make sandwiches for the day.0

I also am away more than I'd like, and it is so hard! Looks like you're off to a great start with your ideas. Also, most hotels have some sort of gym and/or pool to use, and if there's a mini fridge and microwave, use them! I've had a lot of success finding markets near hotels and getting some things to tie me over--fruit, yogurt, oatmeal packets, Cliff bars, etc. I haven't tried it yet, but I know some people travel with protein powder they can add by the scoopful to water bottles. Also, most receptions and meetings have some healthy options - fruit, crudites, cheese, lean cold cuts, etc. - and if you're on campuses to recruit, find their dining halls' healthy options, or nearby places to eat and plan ahead (many chain places have nutritional info. and even meal builders online).
Good luck!!0 -

My husband travels work for apx 50% of the time year round. Sometimes he's in the middle of what feels like no where. He struggles to find places to eat. He bought Eat This Not That Restaurants. It's helped him figured some of it out. He also packs a ziploc baggie full of bars and meal bars he eats normally at home. He finds a walmart or target to buy a cheap cooler to fill with water so he can get his water intake in. He usually drives 6-10 hrs away or has to fly. He's gone for min of 4-5 days so this seems to help. He also sticks with a lot of subway the sodium isn't the best but at least he knows whats in the food. He takes his P90X program with and does a min of 1 miles of cardio a day but aims for more.0

Thanks everyone for the responses. I actually have the eat this not that guide to help! I love the idea of the cooler, and that way I can pre-make some sandwiches. Bringing Tupperware is a great odea as well. That way if I do have to eat out, I can pack it and bring it with me to the next place without my car smelling like food. I will definitely be on the lookout for Subways as well!0
