Doing it old school
2 Hrs in the gym before breakfast burning 1000-1200 calories a day M-F.
15 min warm-up,
60 min weight training, one body part a week, (Chest, Back, Legs, Shoulders, Arms)
60 min cardio
it took almost a year to build the stamina do do it 5 days a week, but the payoff,
yesterday in the gym, one of the 20-somethings told me I was her inspiration to keep going
which is a HUGE ego boost for a guy pushing 50.
"if I was younger, and her eyesight wasn't so good...." {wink}
starting weight: 225 lbs
current weight: 187.5 lbs
current goal: 180 lbs 15% body fat.

Personally I wouldn't do it that way, but if you're getting the results you want then keep doing it.0

I thought doing it old school would be using one of those machines that you stand in front of with the strap around you and then jiggle the heck out of your belly and butt... lol
Good results with the exercise, but remember, for long term success your exercise program needs to be an activity you enjoy doing or eventually you will quit. Start thinking of other things to do if the 20 something's approbation is not sufficient to keep you going.0 -

Agree, somtimes less is more and I would bo the weights completely differently. What is important is that it works for you so well done, keep up the good work0 -
I like to do it new school. Where i do cardio and strength at the same time so i get the same results with less time.0

Awesome job! Just goes to show, whether it's a new way or an old way...as long as you work hard, are consistent and give it time - your goals will be achieved!
Thank you for sharing your success story with us! Cheers!0 -

Lol!! I like your sense of humour! I found some of the comments a little negative - it's working for you so keep at it!0 -

I don't mind the comments,
hell if someone else told me they were doing it that way I may just make the same comments, so how can I judge..
my goals are very specific, ( strength, stamina, weight ), and I'm meeting them based on my plan,
and once the next goal is reached, the plans change through the winter,
4 days a week in the gym instead of 5
doing body parts twice a week,
drop another 5 lbs before March 12
and work more on stamina
and odd as it may sound,
I really look forward to my time in the gym (most days)0
