Need HELP before I pull a muscle!

Bare with me because I know nothing about muscles or exercise etc. but I'm on Day 5 of the 30 Day Shred and for about 3 days this one muscle has been hurting me. It's like the front of my calf on the inside right on the inside of my shin. It's not my shin, like a shin splint or anything. I can tell it's a muscle and it feels hard-ish and it feels better if I rub/massage it, but then it hurts again. It's been getting a little worse everyday. Feels like I need to stretch it or something, but I don't know how. I can feel it pull when I go up and down stairs. Should I take a few laps on my stairs to stretch it or will that make it worse? I think it's from how my feet land when I do jumping jacks...I'm doing them correctly, but that's when it hurts while I'm working out. Any help? TIA and sorry if I sound like an idiot. I really want to finish the Shred and I don't want to get hurt.

OMG...I'm in the same boat!! By day 5 of the shred my lower left leg - the one side of my calf muscle (inner side)t started to hurt like hell!! The pain sort of radiates from the side of my calf down to my ankle and slightly around to the front. I've done day 6 & 7 now, but very low impact...no jumping jacks or kick yourself in the butt jogging. I'm still hobbling around though. About ready to throw in the towel on 30 day shred. I've done many many work outs through out the years and never had an injury....not sure if this is the work out for me!0

Sounds like we're having the same problem! I know it has something to do with the jumping jacks so I'm going to be careful with that over the next few days. At first I thought if I just kept at it then it would get better, but it's getting worse. My husband says I shouls put an Icy Hot patch on it....Might try that. I really don't want to give up the Shred, but I also don't want to get hurt and not be able to exercise AT ALL :frown:0 -

Hehe looks like you and I are the only ones with calf issues!!0 -
Do more stretching after the workout than what's on the DVD. A good stretch for your lower leg muscles is to sit on a chair and extend one leg out. Use that leg to "write" the alphabet in the air. Repeat with the other leg.0
