There are plenty of websites that you can plug in your height and weight and they will tell you what your ideal weight is, and what your bmi should be.
  • Are you happy and healthy?

Not nearly enough detail. Gotta include age, body fat %, goals and your frame.

Personally, I think the scale is WAY overrated as a tool for determining optimal weight.
  • According to the BMI calculator, you have a BMI of 24. That is in the healthy range, but just barely. BMI isn't all that reliable, because it doesn't really account for your body fat and lean body mass percentages.

I know, but I just wanted to see what PEOPLE think, not a website. :-)

Well, I think that I'm semi-healthy, but NOT happy with my weight! Thank you for the answer, though! :-)

Personally, I would rather have my body fat measured as opposed to going by my weight. Have you had yours measured recently?

how do you feel about yourself? How you feel about yourself is the most important thing. I agree that we don't have enough info to go on here.

Well, I went on a website and it said mine was fine (22 or something like that), but I haven't had it done professionally. Thanks! :-)

    This!

Body fat % from a website isn't always reliable, btw...I did one once that told me that I was 13% body fat at 160 lb (I'm 5'5"), when my calipers were telling me 33%!
  • Your weight, by itself, is just fine. As long as you are healthy, I don't think you need to worry about it at all. It may be more than the "social ideal" but that is not what matters.
  • Are you happy and healthy?

If you're not happy then make a change! :-) For me...what is "ideal" is when I am happy, confident, strong and healthy. Happy Friday!
I agree with the others that say BMI is not always accurate. What's your body fat %? There are tons of things to consider.

It would be easier to tell from a picture than from stats, that being said for
A woman with a medium frame the "ideal" weight is 100 lbs at 5' and add 5lbs per inch, add 10% for large frame and minus 10% for a small frame.
For a man with a medium frame "ideal" is 106 lbs at 5' and add 6 lbs per inch, again add 10% for large frame and minus 10% for small frame

So if you are female your ideal would be 100 + 5*4.75 = 124 if you are large frame that would be 136 ish. Now if you have a large amount of muscle you could easily weigh more and have a great body, that is where BF% comes into play.

If you are a guy your ideal would be 106 +6*4.75 = 134.5 and if large framed 148.

I totally agree. I'm not really sure about my body fat percentage, but I'm overweight! Thanks sooo much!
