How many calories in steak???

There are so many conflicting numbers on MFP, that I am not sure which to choose. I just entered 6.5 oz steak and it shows as 1400+ calories. Is that accurate? It was some kind of boneless strip steak.

Not sure, but I am interested to know. 1400 sounds WAY too high to be correct!0

That isn't anywhere close to accurate. I ate a 8oz top sirloin for lunch, and it was 475-495 calories, so there is no way it was 1100 calories unless there was some type topping with it.0

I would check out the beef council website & check nutrition by the cut of the steak.0

When in doubt I use the USDA nutritional database reference. I found it when I googled.0

I have no idea how many calories are in steak, maybe if you listed what part of the cow you are eating you will get a better accuracy on the calorie count.0
