KIDNEY STONE HELP!

Options
I have had kidney stones before. I know everything not to eat and follow all of the rules but for some reason I still have one from time to time. I have got one now. I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and need to pass this thing asap as I am in pain! Any suggestions appreciated! I have also been drinking water nonstop too. Prayers appreciated too!

I'm not much of a help, considering I've never had kidney stones, but I'm prayin' for you!

Try not eating meat for a few days. Meat seems to bring them on. You can get your protein from plants and if you're not getting enough try Hemp Protein, not Whey Protein. Also stay away from dairy for a while. This usually works for me. Good luck. I hope you have a good vacation with no further problems. I said a prayer for you and will pray whenever God brings you to mind.

Take fiber supplements and make sure you eat some substantial meals. It doesn't seem connected, but it can help!

hubby gets them every six months... badly :(
His Dr (who also gets them) suggested he drink beer *L*
    His reasoning?
    1) It seems to go through you faster than water *L*
    2) It won't hurt as much as helps deaden the pain *LOL*

    good luck!

have u had an x-ray to see where its exact location is? and its size? This will all tell you and the doctor whetehr the stone is even passable. Some stones are too big to pass and need to be crushed. I would go to the ER and let them get an x-ray so that you know whether you should even be going out of town....sorry to not have any better news, but I have worked for urologist in the past, and there really is nothing you can do to help facilitate the passage of the stone other than liquids, IF the stone is passable. Good luck to you :)

UNFORTUNATELY OTHER THAN DRINKING WATER AND TAKING SOMETHING FOR PAIN UNTIL YOU PASS THE STONE IS PRETTY MUCH IT. BUT AFTER YOU PASS IT TRY KEEPING YOUR DIET LOW IN PHOSPHORUS, THE WORSE CULPRIT IS PEPSI AND COKE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE ONE OF THE KIDNEY WEB SITE AND LOOK UP INFO ON KIDNEY STONES. GOOD LUCK..

You would need to know what your stones are made of (some are calcium, some phosphorous etc), and avoid those foods. I would drink as much water as possible, and make sure you bring your insurance info and a list of current meds, and as much medical history as you have, including when the problem started, what makes it worse, any allergies, etc. I would make sure to know where the nearest urgicares, and or ER's are where you are going. Best of Luck to You, Lynn

I don't know why but water with lemon juice works for me. For the past several months, I've been using a packet of True Lemon in my water and I'm good. Good luck!

So sorry for your pain - and such bad timing!

I have heard of solutions with apple cider fasts that take 2-3 days, but the only one I've heard of that has a faster turnaround then that is this one: Drink a mixture of 2 ounces of lemon juice with 2 ounces olive oil plus a large glass of water. This has worked for lots of people, and is supposed to help with the pain within 24 hours.

It took me 2 months to pass mine. It was terrible. The only thing that really got it moving was IV fluids. That seemed to move it pretty well. I hope it gets better for you. I was passing mine on a mini vacation and it was pretty much a fog from the pain pills.

I have these drops called "Phosfood." They break up kidney stones.

And you should go to a health specialist that practices Nutrition Response Testing. Kidney stones can be caused when your parathyroid is out of whack. It takes the calcium from your food and blood to put into your bones. Kidney stones occur when the parathyroid thinks you need more than you do. The extra then gets deposited into your kidneys as kidney stones.

Phosfood will break these up. A Nutrition Response Tester can also give you supplements to balance out your parathyroid. Once you get your prathyroid balanced out, kidney stones should be a thing of the past. Right after my screening, I took my first dose of supplements at 9:45pm. By bedtime my pain was gone and I have not had any more problems. I'm on the supplements for about a month, and then, hopefully, won't ever have to experience that pain again.

    God bless!

Lots of water and some cranberry. I dont like the taste of cranberry juice so I get the cranberry caps and take 4 of them at bedtime with water. The caps still provide the acid and the protective enzymes for the bladder, but don't have the added sugar and chemicals that are in the juice. I routinely take them once a week as a preventative.

    Good Luck!
