No sleep for the exerciser...

Since starting a new strict regime, my body doesn't want to sleep. I wake up hours before I really want to, regardless of when I go to bed at night. I am not feeling the normal, "lack of sleep" side effects I feel perfectly normal and healthy. However, I am beginning to wonder if this is healthy. Some nights I get only three to four hours of sleep. And some nights my body allows me to get 6-8. I kind of like it because I have this extra time on my hands to add to my workouts and I feel less stressed. Anyone else have these sleep problems since working out?

I have been the same way. I have too much energy and it is interrupting my sleep. What I do is try to burn it all off before I go to bed. I will go and go until I can't go anymore. Once I lay down and I actually fall asleep...I am done for a solid 6-8 hours of sleep. A tornado could rip through my house and I don't think I would hear it. LOL0

how late are you exercising I have heard you shouldn't exercise late at night because it keeps you up. You need sleep or your system will go funky.0

I am feeling exactly the same! i have alot more energy and find myself waking up at 5am which is awesome becaused i can get in an hour or so of zumba in and have a shower all before my baby wakes up! i feel i have the energy to easily get through all the housework and other chores and have even been able to fit in a workout at night (around 7pm )without feeling tired or exhausted! im not sure if this is normal, but i like it0

I exercise in the morning. However, depending on the day's schedule, I will occasionally exercise in the mid afternoon. But, I always do it all before the kids get home from school. The only after evening activity I do is cooking dinner and shuffling my kids to soccer practice. Occasionally, I will play outside with them.0
