35 day sucess...

I have just logged in for 35 days and would like to share some figures with you for those 35 days )
Lost 13lbs in weight and 3 inches off my waist.
Lost 1% body fat (down from 25.2 to 24.2)
Gained 0.9% muscle (up from 40.8 to 41.7)
Here's a question then...
If I've lost 1% body fat (2lbs) and gained 0.9% muscle mass (1.8lbs) where has the other 12.8lbs weight loss come from?
My water hasn't changed over this time, sticking at between 50%-51% depending on the day/week.
Put on a pair of jeans the other day (the last pair I bought before I started the weight loss plan) and they just fall straight back down. In fact all of my trousers are now falling down without a belt
Edit: can't edit title, yes, I know there is a typo, thanks )

BF% (and other percentages) is a ratio of you weight at the time of measurement so (if i'm reading your ticker starting weight correctly) 25.2% * 200.5lb = 45.4lb fat v's 24.2% * 187.5lb = 50.5lb fat => you've actually lost around 5lb fat.
do the same calcs on your muscle mass % you get a 3.6lb muscle loss (not unexpected when on a calorie deficit) leaving 4.2lb of "non-muscle/non-fat" stuff, most of which will be water differences
BUT... i think unless someone is doing an autopsy on you, all of these %ages are approximate anyway & as long as they are heading in the right direction and you feel good, i wouldn't worry about it!0 -
Of course, I should have factored that in. D'oh.
OK, so I've actually lost 5.2lbs of body fat!
Downside is I've also lost 3.8lbs of muscle based on that calc.
Hmmm.
Still 4lbs missing as well. lol. Now I calculate it as above that could be to do with water after all.
I've just looked at a photo I took 35 days ago, and taken another to compare and WOW, what a change on my gut! No, I'm not sharing them here...there was a reason I never took my top off in public! But yes, it is going the right way and I do feel good )0 -

Thanks. Yes, I did loose it, not by going to the pub every night and ordering pizzas just because it's movie night or friday night or saturday evening or the day before monday etc etc.
I look better, I feel better and although not many folk have noticed my weight loss (I still wear my large t-shirts so probably look the same!) they have all noticed how much more positive and happy I am.
It's not ALL about the scales that's for sure!0
