Pedometer

I am in the market for a really good pedometer...even if it's just a nice sturdy step-counter. For some reason I've had horrible luck with ones in the past. I had one that talked to me (now it can't complete a whole sentence...even with a new battery! hehe)

I used to have a GREAT step-counter but it fell off while I was walking at George Fox University last spring.

Anyway, if anyone knows of a good, sturdy one I'd really appreciate it...would rather not spend TOO much, since I do tend to use them to "death".

I have a talking pedometer that I have never used. I use my $1.00 pedometer that I have bought from the Dollar Tree. I have a certain part of my body that connect it to and it gives me correct reading.

The most accurate pedometers on the market are manufactured by Omron. In fact, the Omron HJ-112 is relatively inexpensive and probably the most popular of their line. I own several Omron models, and researched them thoroughly before purchasing. They are consistently top-rated for accuracy. I know you can't go wrong with one of these, and with all due respect to the other poster, I would avoid any pedometer purchased from the dollar store unless yoiu are looking for a motivational tool and don't really care if it's accurate.

Peschuntz, what do you classify as being accurate?

I know that 2000 steps make 1 mile.

I know that walking or running on a outdoor track makes 1 mile.

So what numbers do you classify as being accurate. Please share.
