I try my best to do push-ups. But when it is time to get up, I feel a pressure in my head as if it's about to explode. Any ideas what it could be? Also, maybe I'm doing the push-up wrong. Any instructions/tips on doing a good push-up? Thank you!

How is your breathing during each rep?

Has a section on "good form pushup".

Try relaxing a bit before you get up. Your blood pressure may be up and causing the headache.

I don't know why your head can be bothering you. On one of my Exercise TV dvd, Michael Carson teaches people have to build up to doing a full push up. I want to note that even if people do push ups on their knees, it's still a push ups. Push ups are push ups. A lot of people, including body builders can't do a full push ups. A lot of people have a weak core.

Michael shows the build up to push up. You have to lie on your stomach, with your hands in push up position and your legs up. At the same time, you drop your legs and push yourself up. This will bring you into the full push up.

Fine, I guess. I am not out of breath, if that's what you're asking. Maybe I don't know how to breathe properly. But this happens from the very first push-up. My routine requires 1 minute of push-ups every now and then. So I do a few, and then I just hold a plank for the rest of the time.

Make sure your inhaling on the way down and exhaling on your way up. That will help you keep good form and support your core.

Good tip, I must remember about my breathing when doing strength training.

Check this guy's video about breathing during any sort of resistance training. It's applicable to weight lifting or body weight exercises.
