Can anybody clear this up for me, where I log my food my goal for sodium is 2500 but I am always under. I am trying to eat as much salads and unprocessed food that I can especially as the weather is good. My sodium levels may go up more in the winter. Anyway my question is it bad for me not to increase sodium level? Thanks.

That's a recommended daily allowance for that item IE the 2500 is the max (some would say old max) as there was an adjustment to 1500 mg for those in a particular ethnic group or age category I believe, I still shoot for 2000mg max in a day but yesterday I at least doubled that. Processed food (cheese and pepperoni)

Carbs, protein, fat are things you want to get close to your daily goal for... probably vitamins and the like but sodium is a daily cap! and the fiber as given in the program is a bare minimum!

"This (1500 mg daily sodium amount) applies to all adults aged 51 years and older, all blacks, and all patients who have hypertension, chronic kidney disease, or diabetes.
