Hi

I was wondering if I could get some help with this

Have bought 2 HRM's the first one I thought was faulty as it kept dropping out and saying it wasnt
picking up my heart rate so I took it back to the shop

the second one I bought was on recommendation as it was great deal and worked well
so I bought it got it all set up and this one done the same thing kept dropping out
saying that it wasnt picking up my heart rate

I thought it was maybe that I was wearing it wrong or hadnt set it up properly got it all checked by a friend of mine
all worked perfectly when they wore it!!
tried one my relative had and that one did the same
please tell me where I am going wrong with this??? Is it because I am too fat and it isnt picking up my HR
I do have an irregularity I have a longer gap inbetween some of my heart beats could this be the problem??
My doctor said my heart rate is fine and the irregularity isnt an issue!!

So where am I going wrong??? Am I going to be unlucky enough that I wont get a HRM that will work on me???

many thanks in advance for any advice
Vicky xxxx

what model do you have. Mine sometimes tries to start acting wacky so I wash the strap and it seems to help. I have the polar ft4 and its made a huge difference in my workouts!
  • Try moistening the contacts on the strap with salt water to increase the conductivity.
  • get a polar ft7. Never had a single problem with it.
