So I am taking a vacation to SC in November and I am starting packing list now thanks to a great app that I have on my phone. I am going for 6 days and I want to pack as light as I can. It has been a while so I have taking a big trip like this and I would love ideas for packing light, mix and match clothing ideas, and what to pack for makeup. Thanks!!

  • Wow.. not that's some planning. I'm a last minute planner my self. I'll give some clothes advice... ok I've got none. I live in NC and in November you can be looking at 85 degrees or you can be looking at 50 degrees.

i live in SC, and it is usually fairly mild..it has been snowing the past couple years, but sometimes it is fairly warm, and sometimes it is cold...i think you can do just fine with pants and sweatshirts..you don't need a super heavy jacket ( unless you want it ) what part of SC you heading out to ?? some places may have different weather than where i am..good luck on your trip, and have fun
  • Pack nothing and go shopping!! :D

Yep . . November is a fickle month in the Carolinas. The previous poster is right - could be 80's or could be 50's!! I would pack lots of stuff you can layer like tank tops, short sleeve shirts and zip front sweatshirts. That way you have a variety of options for morning, afternoon and evening and you can "shed" extra layers if it's warm or add on if you're too cold.

If you're flying, don't forget the quart size baggie and they only allow you 3 oz or less toiletry sizes and only what will fit into the quart size baggie. It doesn't amount to much and that's for ALL liquids, gels, toothpaste, etc.

Does this apply to all luggage or the toiletries in your carryon luggage?

Carry on only. If I'm flying domestic I don't bother with the quart baggies, I just pack my shower kit in the check in luggage. If they lose it I can replace easily.

I make sure the hotel I book has a decent fitness room or a Bally's close.

As an old doodlebugger we had a simple checklist.

    1. passport
    2. credit cards.

    Anything else we could buy!
