I couldn't find a thread on this so here it goes:

I have a gamin watch with HRM. I was thinking of wearing it for an entire day to see what my calories burned were...has anyone tried this or have any thoughts?

  • No, But I do need to get a HRM because the calories are off for when I log excercises. Also would you be logging it? I wouldn't cause its daily movement and just living but it would be interesting to see. :)

Most HRMs are not meant to be worn all day. With the exception with the Body Bugg (I think). If you're THAT serious about finding out how much you burn during the day....see your doctor about getting some tests done to find that out.

The HRM isn't designed for that kind of use. It is designed for monitoring exercise activities only. If you want a closer estimate to how many calories you burn during the day, you would need to get something like a body bugg or other device that is designed for wearing all of the time. :)
