It's dosen't matter if you're over on protein. The body uses protein on everything to hair and nails to building muscles. If you work out the body needs more protein to recover.

not at all, but just make sure you are consuming lean protein such as chicken, fish, turkey, and lean beef. good luck!

    no it doesnt matter

but just dont go overboard and just eat protien and not take in any carbs, fats, etc. People tend to cut out carbs thinking its bad and when the start adding it back again in their diet, their bodies arent use to it and gain the wgt back again

I regularly go over by 10-40 grams. Still alive.... I think.

The settings here are low, so its actually good to exceed them. within reason.

If you're going by the MFP default, they run low on protein in their Carbs/Fat/Protein ratio. Do make sure to get your water in - it's important for protein processing and flushing out the wastes that occur with protein metabolism.
  • Glad I saw this, I was wondering the same thing. Yesterday was my first day logging food, and I went over by 20 and was worried! But I did have turkey and chicken in the same day.

I find that when I get the hungries, there is nothing like a good broiled steak to get me even again. I find that it gets rid of hunger headaches better than medication. Protein is not something that I would limit in a diet. What I like about mfp is that by listing minimums, you become aware of extremes in your diet, and are able to bring correctives. Like cutting out too much on carbs and fibre. I don't treat these as maximums, in the sense that I can't go over. But again, if it is way over, it does flag it for me.
