I only just started MFP 12 days ago, so while I've lost 8 lbs (don't even ask how bad my diet was before I started keeping track -- I think I've cut my calories by at least half, if not more), I haven't had my own NSV yet. However, seeing the before/after pictures and stories you guys have posted is so amazingly inspirational! I have about 80 lbs to lose to get to the high range of "healthy" for BMI (I'm 5'11", so 179lbs is a BMI of 25 for me), and while I would have previously settled for 200 lbs, seeing how much people have been able to lose has been a real eye-opener. It's make me realize that if you all can do it, I can, too, and I am looking forward to a year from now, when I'll (hopefully!) have achieved my goal weight. My brother and sister have been doing MFP for a couple of months now, and their results have been fantastic, too; I used to scoff at the idea that counting calories would make any difference, but I am sold now I already have more energy, and I can't even begin to tell you how exciting it is to think that I can really do this if I try... and I am trying.
So, thank you so much for posting all your pictures and stories... I am determined to be posting my own in a few weeks/months
