Hi, I just joined here at the suggestion of one of my friends who has been here and loves the site. I'm looking to lose about 40 lbs. and I would love to do it quickly of course. lol I have 4 kids and I had just started getting back into shape and had lost about 30 lbs and was feeling great about myself when I found out #4 was on his way. I had him back in October 2010 and I've finally stopped nursing so I feel like I can really go hard with the exercise and cut my calories. I'm looking for friends who have similar goals as me so that we can keep each other motivated and share in each others' journeys. I look forward to meeting everyone and add me on as a friend if you like!

HI and welcome to a great tool to help with your journey. I decided after having a mile heart attack at 48 yrs old to change my life and start taking care of myself. I have 3 grandchildren who I am very close to and I want to be able to keep up with them. This site has given me the support and the answers to many questions i have had you will also find it very helpful. Good luck with your journey.

I could have made your post when I got here! Mine are 2, 4, 6 and 8 and the 2 year old surprised me, right when I was ready start claiming myself back. Once I finally weaned her, I'd been pregnant or nursing for 8 years. Getting back to taking care of me has been the best thing I've done for myself AND for the kids.

Welcome to MFP & good luck! I've been on here since Jan., and have lost 37 lbs. It's a great motivator!
  • Thanks for the welcomes and support and congratulations on all of the progress each of you has made!

To answer the question "What happens when you lose the weight?" Well, hopefully I will not only feel good and be more confident while wearing all my clothes that are just hanging collecting dust but my husband will also be surprised(and happy!) when I see him again. He just started a new job several states away from us and me and our 4 children stayed behind to pack and put our house on the market and I'm hoping when we are able to join him in a few months that I will really surprise him with losing this weight. I know I won't be able to lose the entire amount of weight BUT I am confident that I can lose a good bit of it by then. lol And I plan on keeping it off for good because I am not having any more children so no more surprises to derail my progress;)
