okay so far I have lost around 7kg just from controling my calorie intake and walking to uni , so no real exercise.
now I have 5kg more to loose and am thinking of starting running twice a day, just to see if this will aid my weight loss.
do you think it will help ?.

I would start a little easier than that - I have been working up to running by doing walking/running intervals for 45 minutes once a day and it has taken about 3 weeks to get to the stage where I can almost run the whole way. I guess it depends how fit you are already....0

Running twice a day seems like overkill, and it seems likely you'll end up hurting yourself (knees, achilles tendon, shin splints, etc). I'd recommend only running 3-4 times a week. In my opinion, it's better to make sustainable changes than to look for a quick-fix. You could also supplement this with a workout DVD or other sports (biking, swimming).

Do HIIT training. High Intensity Interval Training. I like to sprint as fast as I can for 30 seconds, then slow down to a moderate jog for 45 seconds to a minute. Repeat the cycle for 25-30 mins, maintain eating at a caloric deficit and you're on your way to building lean muscle, toning your glutes, hamstrings, quads and calves, and burning lots of calories. Enjoy and goodluck.0

If your block is the size of my block it would only take you about 5 mins to run around it. Try to get in at least 20 mins worth. Work your way up to 30 mins of the sprinting and jogging method I mentioned. It's MUCH more effective than a steady paced job. I love the Insanity workout dvds. No weights needed except for in 1 video. The rest are all body weight exercises that will burn calories like crazy. RIPPED is also great.0 -
