Motivated at night, not so much in the morning?

Does anyone else get motivated in the evenings/night time. Like you start thinking about the next day, and how good your going to do, and all the exercise you plan to fit in.... but then the next morning you wake up feeling more like you got hit by a bus and all that optimism must have been a dream? And then the whole day just kind of rolls by not how you planned, but somehow, night time hits again, your laying there in bed, and all that optimistic "tomorrow will be a new day" starts spinning through you head. And the cycle continues. What is up with that? Am I the only one who gets like this?

Dude....this is me EXACTLY. At night I go to change for bed and I glance at the mirror and I see all my flaws, but I just grin at myself and think 'Hey, I accept myself as ME, and sure you can lose some of this flab *grabs fat and shakes* but you look awesome dude
'. Then I might go changing into random outfits that are too small and thinking of how fantastic I'll look when I'm thin enough lol. I might dance around too with my ipod. And yeeeeeah then the next morning I look in the mirror and I go WTF???? Haha yeah I guess it's because of the dim nightime lighting xD and I'm probably too sleepy to clearly see myself .

I go at night when I still feel motivated (well most of the time). If I go in the morning I get my clothes and stuff ready the night before so I can roll out of bed and get to the gym before im too awake to realize what im doing.0

I do the same thing "I will wake up, wash up, have breakfast and work out. Then go on with my day". But things totally change in the morning. I keep postponing to afternoon, then evening. But when the day is over and I am about to get in bed, I put on my sports bra and do my workout. Go to bed and sleep so deep after that! And when I wake up in the morning, instead of cursing out the flabs, I feel the toned tummy and arms. I do feel leaner in the mornings if I work out at night! So now it's in my routine to do it late at night. Today I did it at 2 am.0

I think it has to do with waking up with the pressure of having a "perfect" day in terms of living a healthy life. Nobody wants to wake up like that!
Instead, I'd try breaking it down into little steps, like: tomorrow, I'll have a good breakfast. That's one thing to focus on, it can be planned ahead to make it more plausible to happen, and once you do it you'll feel like you've achieved a great thing. With time, you can include other doable tasks, one at a time.
I have to say, also, at the risk of sounding harsh, that sometimes you just have to make the decision and stick with it. Period. I'm not saying it's easy, but in the end, we are responsible for our own behavior. And if emotional issues are getting in the way, then going to therapy, for example, is a good idea. Just like I started doing this week!
Good luck. We can do this!0 -
You know what you need to do? Change what you eat at night! I had the same problem as you - I would wake up so groggy and unmotivated till I changed my diet. My rules are absolutely no carbohydrates after 4pm, don't eat red meat at night (too acidic and hard to digest), no alcohol, tea or coffee and definitely no chocolate, chips or nuts at 9pm watching CSI or whatever other mindless show we like to watch. I stick with chicken, fish, salad or lightly steamed veges and herb teas and I wake up bright as a bell ready to take on the world. You then wake up with a flatter tummy which keeps you motivated when it comes to making good breakfast choices.0

I ALWAYS do this!
I also buy gym clothes to motivate myself and although sometimes it works i soon lose motivation again. I wish i didn't cause i love the feeling after a run or a gym session.0
