Advice and thoughts on scales please !

Hello everyone !

I have noticed that I will step on the scale and it will give me a figure of like 200.2lbs at like 6am then at 8am I will weigh 194.2 !?
I know you shouldn't be on the scales this but I took the reading of 200.2lb figure as my weight but I want to know why does it flucuate like this and especially weight going down !

I could understand if weight was gained during the day due to different factors but for weight to go down wow awfully mind boggled haha !

  • i find the same with my scales - i weigh on the kitchen floor (hard surface) and step on once only
    if i go on a second time - even 30 minutes later it can be different

    the best thing to do is to weigh once a week - the same time or near as to after you have used the loo and before breakfast
    this is what i have been told on another site that i used to use
    whether or not you choose to weigh with no clothes on is up to you
    i tend to weigh in my nightwear

    Did you weigh your self at 6am then go exercise and weigh your self again? If so it was prolly water weight you lost from working out. Thats all I can really think of why it would go down that much in 2 hours.

    Believe it or not I woke up at 6am went to the little girls room and weighed 200.2lbs showed up...I went back to bed and woke back up went back on them at 194.2 showed up

    I went to the loo
    Didnt eat breakfast
    Didnt work out

    I do weigh myself once a week but this morning was just stepping on them for fun, thats why I took my first reading rather than the lowest I was just curious thats all haha xx

    We are normally at our lightest weight when we wake up because our body also burns calories even during rest. Its why it is important to have a weigh-in schedule at the same time so you can track your progress. Some says do it first thing in the morning after we wake up and have your first pee. Because our weight fluctuates during the entire day because of water changes.
  • i fluctuate up to 5 pounds throughout the day- it can be REALLY frustrating. i agree with jmdortega, try to weigh yourself at the same time everyday so you'll have a more accurate number for tracking loss :)
