I did Level 1 of JM's 6-Week 6-Pack workout last night and was wondering -- how do you guys log your calories burned with these kinds of workouts? Do you wear a heart rate monitor? Do you just guess? Do you use some kind of guideline?

I was told to call it "circuit training" by some of the others. But for 30 minutes I sure do sweat a lot for 300 calories.0

Hee hee...good idea! And you're right -- her workouts have GOTTA be more than 300 at a time. Whew.0 -

I agree, when I do the 30 Day Shred I sweat soooo much and feel like I will surely die! It has to be more then the 317 calories it gives me. Hmmmm....I will be anxious to see what others say!0

When I was doing Level 3 of 30DS I was sure I was burning about 400 cals. I borrowed my husband's HRM and it turned out I was burning 170 cals!!! I couldn't believe it - all that sweat and tears for 170 lousy calories! But I guess it is only 20 minutes! Anyway I toned up quite a bit and am doing Ripped in 30 for September, I still have to use HRM to check cals burned but I'll let you know!0

I do the 30 Day Shred consistently ... if I jump on the elliptical beforehand for 30 minutes and then do one of the levels I can burn about 250 calories (and yes, I wear a HRM) ... this morning I did levels 1 and 2 and burned a little over 400 calories ... HRM is the way to go!0

I have always logged it as Circuit Training. Just got a HRM though, and while I'm not sure how accurate it is compared to the chest band type, it definitely gave me a higher calorie burn reading than the estimate on MFP after doing Ripped In 30 just now. My HRM is a New Balance watch type, and I took a pulse reading throughout the workout as per it's instructions.0
