Ok, so my problem is I get BORED easily. I have done insanity, P90X, 30day shred, I have been running, and lifting weights and I just get bored. I recently started doing intervals in running. I do jogging and sprinting. I still enjoy that, but I know soon enough, that will get old too. I need a new workout to do at home. I don't have time for the gym, I teach and coach high school volleyball, and have 2 kids, so not lots of time . Has anyone done a workout on the xbox kinect? Was it challenging? Any new ideas would be appreciated!

How about Yoga at home? Lots of basic Yoga dvds available out there..or on the net (youtube it!). It's a nice calorie burn..light....stretching...mind-body...and relaxing.. Different styles of yoga out there will never get you bored...
good luck.

I get bored easily with working out too. The only thing that I've found to consistently keep me interested in doing something is doing it with a partner. My husband and I go to the gym together - and even if we don't do the same things, it keeps me there because I know he's there. I also try to just vary things regularly - one day I may run on the track, the next I might use the elliptical, and the day after that I might do an Exercise DVD.
If variation doesn't help then you might consider getting Exercise TV or some equivalent via cable/satellite. That way you can try new things on a regular basis and none of it ever becomes the same old same old. Good luck.0 -
If you want to be out and about how about cycling?0

I try to focus on doing what it takes to reach my goal. Not sure how someone can get bored with so many different exercise programs so quickly. I became bored once I reach my goal but then I decided it was important to create new goals.
Do you think you have an issue making a commitment to completing an exercise program?

Those are the workouts I have done over the past two years, Insanity is 60 days each time and so is P90X. I have also done Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme, and others. I just find routine boards me . I also have a total gym and free weights, so I try to vary what I do and the programs I select0

Deck of cards workout is something I use to add to a routine
Pick four exercises one for each suit (clubs, hearts, spades, diamonds)
Jokers included for cardio
Aces are eleven reps
10-king are ten reps and every other card is face value
When the jokers come up they are typically a mile run but assign whatever you want to them for cardio
I know this isn't a complete routine but it is tough and fun depending on the exercises you assign to each suit
At work we usually use pull ups , burpees, knees to elbows and squats0 -
I try to vary things as routine can get very boring and sometimes I can be really in the mood for one workout and the next day I hate it and I'm rubbish.
If you use music when you're exercising I find refreshing the playlist can sometimes revamp the whole workout.0 -
What about swimming?
It's finally warming up here and i can not wait to get into a pool and start doing laps!0 -
I like the deck of cards idea. I used the deck for ab work before, but not doing it with cardio and assigning an exercise to each suit. I think I am gunna try that this week and change the exercises each day!!! Thanks for the idea!0

Music is a motivator especially when I run, I love when a great song comes on and I can just pick up the pace!!0

I did the deck of cards workout this morning and LOVED it! I did burpees, pull ups on my total gym, squats and squat jacks. I did it in my basement so I could not run a mile, but I jogged in place for 3 minutes I think tomorrow though I will do jump roping. IT was great workout! Thanks for the idea0
