Banana Nut Cheerios® cereal and peanut butter stir up into an easy no-bake snack bar.
Prep time:20 Min
Total time:50 Min
Makes: 24 bars
Ingredients
4 cups Banana Nut Cheerios® cereal
1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
1/3 cup roasted unsalted sunflower nuts
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix cereal, cranberries, almonds and sunflower nuts.
In 2-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, brown sugar and peanut butter to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Pour syrup mixture over cereal mixture; toss to coat. Press firmly in pan. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
Tips
How-To
To toast almonds, sprinkle in ungreased heavy skillet. Cook over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently until almonds begin to brown, then stirring constantly until almonds are light brown.

My favorite bar recipe is found at the following link.

You can use all honey rather than the white sugar, and I like to add some semi sweet morsels. I make up a batch & package them in snack bags for an easy on-the-go breakbast or snack. My girls and I love them.0 -

My mom used to make us these when we were little. (she would use puffed wheat, but I am sure you can substitute Cheerios!)
1 1/2 cups sugar (or Splenda)
1/2 cup butter (or substitute)
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
2 1/2 cup cheerios
2/3 cup peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
Combine sugar, butter, flour and milk in saucepan. Bring to full boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, cereal, vanilla and salt. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or line 9x9 dish with waxed paper and spread in it. Allow to cool, then cut into bars.0 -
