How do I count the calories at a Mongolian Grill?
I had only veggies, meat and sauce.

Broccoli, Cabbage, Green Pepper, Zucchini, Sprouts, Jalapeno, Onions, Green Onions, Pineapple, Tofu, Chicken.
Sauce: 2 hot sauce, 2 mongolian sauce, 1 garlic sauce and then of course the house sauce that looks like soy sauce was added while he was cooking it.

I don't even know how to estimate it... I tried to keep it lower carb by omitting the noodles.

perhaps "stir fried veggies" and then "stir fried chicken"

Do you know what kind of oil was used?

and then of course add the sauce

    sounds yummy!

A lot of entries from Genghis Grill are in the database -- if what you want isn't there, they have a complete nutrition guide on their website. I use their numbers for any Mongolian food-type meals that I can't find actual numbers for.

Did you search MFP? I had HuHot the other night and most of the stuff (even sauces) were on it. If it wasn't HuHot you could maybe use those? The calories in the veggies etc seemed right

Mongolian grill is one of our family's favorite places to eat. I have changed my choices there a little bit, but I still eat there regularly.

I made a meal that listed each of the individual ingredients that I put in my stir fry. I am estimating but I think my estimation skills are pretty accurate now.

I found all the sauces that I use in my seasoning in the database.

I also ask the cooks to use water when cooking my food rather than oil. It's just as tasty and I like being able to control the amount of oil in it. Otherwise I think they use a lot of oil for cooking.
  • The Mongo grill that I visit lets you build a bowl and it calculates it out for you. It probably has a lot of the same ingredients so it might help you :)http://www.gomongo.com/experience/create-a-bowl.php

Love that place even more now that I realized my two bowls were about 400 calories total! Was stuffed after.
