What websites, books, magazines, etc have you found that has given you the tools you need to succeed? I am not sure where I would be if I never found myfitnesspal, and I wonder what else is out there that I am not aware of that may change my life...lol. I am really into continuing to build my healthy lifestyle, and am trying to learn as much as I can about fitness. Looking for ideas, Thanks!

My MFP friends has been the biggest help. Even though I had been losing for 2 years before, they have given me more support, encouragement, and motivation then I ever had. And because of this, I have achieved goals, and other challenges I never would have imagined achieving. I also have to say that my Husband has been a huge support for me also!

My biggest success tip is PERSISTENCE

Aside from that, this website helped me tremendously:

    http://www.extremely-fit.com/fitness-tips/2011/01/8week-transition-diet/

As well as a book called The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler

I also thoroughly enjoy reading a magazine called ONFitness - I pick my copy up every other month from Barnes and Noble and am asking for a subscription for Christmas this year - it has GREAT, informative articles and VERY FEW ads! Highly Recommend! The magazine really helps me stay motivated - do a google search for their website and you can look at a PDF of their magazine for free online to see if you like it!

The Eat Clean Diet book by Tosca Reno, the Oxygen women's fitness magazine & honestly getting a trainer from my gym, even for a couple of sessions. I always learn something new and learn how to switch up my eating & workouts....totally worth the money!!

What's really helped me is having a Food and Exercise Diary. If I write down what I'm putting into my mouth, it really makes me think if I really want to eat it. Can't say how many times I've put down something that looks scrumptious because it wasn't so hot for my bod!
I'm a visual person, so something that really helps me is looking at my weight tracking graph and watching the weight go down, down, down. Makes it easier to pass up stuff that doesn't work for me!!

  • Thats the right question to ask. gregplitt.com has been helping me but he's a guy. Dont believe the "lose weight in 2 weeks" crap you see in the magazines. My advice would be to make a list of any fitness models or women you want to have a body like and whom you think know what they're doing, and then find out what they do for exercise and what advice they give. And be realizsic, remember, all this stuff takes TIME.
  • Great stats!!! I"m still working on what worked for me! Hoping my fitness pal is it!
