Daily Counter Question

I was wondering why the daily counter goes up when we add our exercise? I thought the point was to eat the min calories that the calculator said AND exercise on top of it. Why would I eat more calories after I exercise?

    Hi. The way MFP is set up you are given a base number to lose x amount of pounds. When you exercise, you go below that number.

    We call it eating back your exercise calories.

    I have researched and when I go to another web site they set me up with 1400-1500 calories because I TELL them I am going to exercise 5 x week 45 minutes.

    MFP does not assume you will DO your exercise. So I get 1200 calories and have to exercise to get to the 1400-1500 other diets give me.
