Backdrop. Up until late May this year, I didn't run. Last time I ran was in high school, and that was only because it was required. So, I started to run in late May (among other exercise activities). Before this weekend, I was up to 2 miles without stopping. I had already mapped out the run that would net me 3 miles and this Sunday morning, I decided it was time to try it. Finished the 3 mile run in 32:26. I think I'm ready for some 5k fun runs :)

Yesterday I rode my bike for 25 miles for the first time ever. My wife and I are getting ready for a 34 mile bike race this Sunday and I think we're ready to go.

Those are great NSV's. Congrats! I myself want to give running a shot. Never thought I would say that. I need to get some good shoes first though. For now I tried the wii fit free run and did 30 mins without walking at all =) can't wait to get to my first 5k. =) good luck and have fun at your bike race!

having a good pair of running shoes really helps (esp for me since I have flat feet). I used to buy only cross trainers, but those are not ideal for running. I am currently wearing a pair of Asics for running.

30 minutes of running is awesome! keep it up :)
